Who is Jesus? Jesus is the center of focus of being a Christian. Jesus is the only Son of God, who came to save human beings from sin and reconcile them to God. He did this through his death on the cross. We read in John 3:16, For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but may have eternal life. Three days after dying and being buried, Jesus came alive again. Jesus was fully human, and also fully God. He was born to Joseph and Mary, through the Holy Spirit who powerfully and supernaturally brought about Jesus conception in the womb of Mary. Jesus grew up in Nazareth, and began his ministry at the age of thirty, teaching, healing, doing miracles, and proclaiming the good news of the kingdom of God. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No person comes to the Father except through me. He was executed on a cross under the reign of the Roman governor, Pontius Pilate. Jesus rose from the dead, and was seen by the apostles, and many other witnesses. He ascended into heaven, and now is with God the Father. The first four books of the New Testament of the Bible - Matthew, Mark, Luke and John are the only firsthand, historical accounts we have of Jesus. You can read about his life, ministry, and teaching in these inspiring and convicting books.
