What is MyChart?

MyChart offers you personalized and safe online access to parts of your health records. It lets you safely use the Internet to get facts about your health. With MyChart, you can:

  • Ask for health appointments.
  • View your health summary.
  • View test results.
  • Ask for prescription renewals.
  • Communicate online and safely with your health care team.

Is there a fee to use MyChart?

MyChart is free to our patients.

How do I sign up?

You can sign up during your visit or get a MyChart code after your visit. This code will let you log in and make your own user ID and password. If you were not given a code, you can:

  • Call your clinic to get one.
  • Ask to sign up during your next visit.
  • Request Access

Who do I contact if I have further questions?

When can I see my test results in MyChart?

Your results are released to your MyChart account after your doctor has reviewed them. This is about 1-7 days.

Why are certain test results not shared online on MyChart?

Your doctor decides which results you can see in MyChart. Also, tests that are very personal may not be released in MyChart.

If some of my health records on MyChart are incorrect, what should I do?

Your MyChart record comes from your electronic health record at your doctor's office. Ask your doctor to fix anything wrong at your next visit. Your health record is reviewed and fixed each visit.

If I send a message to my doctor or nurse, when can I expect a reply?

You will get an answer within 1-2 work days. Please know that MyChart should not be used for urgent problems. Please call your health center if the problem needs quick attention. Dial 911 if it is an emergency.

Can I view other member's health record in MyChart?

Yes, this is called proxy access. It lets a parent, guardian or legal representative log into their MyChart account and connect to information about their proxy member. Please talk to your doctor during your next visit for more information.

Can I ask questions about a family member from my MyChart account?

No. MyChart offers direct access to your health record. Communicating about someone's record would be placed in your health record. Information about someone else in your health record is not safe. Your account is about your health only.

Can my spouse and I share one MyChart account?

No. Due to personal health records, each adult must sign and send a request to make their own MyChart account.

I forgot my password. What should I do?

Click the "Forgot password" link on the sign-in page to reset your password.

Can you send me a new code if I lost it, let it expire or did not get it?

Call our MyChart Patient Support Line at 612-873-5600.

Where can I change my personal information (such as home address, e-mail or password)?

Log into MyChart. From the left menu, go to the “Preferences”. Select what you want to change.

How is MyChart safe?

We take great care to have your health record kept private and safe. Viewing of records is controlled through codes, ID's, and passwords. Each person keeps their own password. The account cannot be used without that password. Also, MyChart uses the latest 128-bit SSL encryption technology with no caching to automatically encrypt your session with MyChart. Unlike e-mail, all MyChart messaging is done while you are logged in.

What is your Privacy Policy?

MyChart is owned and controlled by MyChart. It fully meets federal and state laws with your privacy. Your name and email will be treated with the same safety as your health records. It will never be sold or leased by MyChart.

I was logged out of MyChart, what happened?

We aim to protect your records. You will be logged out if your keyboard is not used for 15 minutes or more. Always log out of MyChart when you leave your computer.

What do I need to use MyChart?

You can use a computer or a smartphone.

For a computer, you need:

  • Internet connection
  • Up-to-date browser (such as Explorer, Firefox or Google Chrome)

For a smartphone, you can download the free MyChart app:

My code does not work, what should I do?

For your safety, your code stops working after you have used it or after 30 days. If you still have problems, call our MyChart Patient Support Line at 612-873-5600.

Is my code my user ID?

No. Your code is not your MyChart ID or password. You will use this code only once to log into MyChart for the first time. When you log in the first time, you will make your own user ID and password.

Why can’t I access the MyChart website on Internet Explorer?

MyChart has been updated to a newer format that is no longer supported by Microsoft Internet Explorer. Because of this, patients should download Microsoft Edge or use other browsers like Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox and Apple Safari to access their MyChart account.

Multiple members of your care team may view MyChart messages in order to get an appropriate and efficient response; this may include nurses or advance practice clinicians other than your primary care provider (PCP).

Use MyChart Message Center to have conversations with your doctor or other clinic staff, ask non-emergency medical questions, send test results to your provider from another provider or network, and even upload your official COVID-19 vaccination record.

What should not be included in the patient chart? ›

The following is a list of items you should not include in the medical entry:
  • Financial or health insurance information,
  • Subjective opinions,
  • Speculations,
  • Blame of others or self-doubt,
  • Legal information such as narratives provided to your professional liability carrier or correspondence with your defense attorney,

Can you permanently delete messages in MyChart? ›

If you refresh or leave the page after deleting the message you will still have the option to restore it. However, if you logout of your account you will no longer be able to restore the messages – the messages are permanently deleted.

Will my doctor know if I go to another doctor? ›

Most healthcare providers share information through electronic health records (EHR) systems. This helps ensure that all your doctors have a complete picture of your health history, even if you see different specialists or go to urgent care.

Is everything I tell my doctor confidential? ›

Your doctor will keep the details of what you talk about private, or confidential. The only time your doctor cannot honor your privacy is when they believe there is an immediate threat to your safety or someone else's.
